UMPIRES NEEDED - WORLD CORPORATE GAMES – LIVERPOOL
I am writing to offer you the opportunity to be involved in a major event that is coming to the City of Liverpool from the 26th -29th June 2014. It is called the World Corporate Games Liverpool 2014 and this event is the largest annual multi-sport festival for businesses in the World. The Games has a powerful history since the first in San Francisco in 1988 and it has visited a host of terrific City’s since then. Netball has been working successfully with the Games Team since 2010 on the UK Corporate Games. However, this is the first time that the World Corporate Games been staged in the North West and fantastic facilities will be used for each of the components. There will be 24 great sports on the packed weekend programme.
The Games will feature 7 a side netball and mixed netball competitions for men and women and you have the chance to officiate and to be involved in the festival.
This event will feature hundreds of players from Liverpool, throughout the UK and International visitors too. The netball event is at Wavertree Sports Park in Liverpool. The atmosphere at each of these venues will be outstanding as there will be additional sports at this venue.
We are looking for a number of umpires to cover the fixtures that will take place on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th June between approx 0800 and 1700 on the Saturday and 0900 and 1500 on the Sunday. There will be breaks between fixtures.
Those referees selected will be paid £40 per full day on the Saturday and £30 for the Sunday. The Games is for the umpires and officials too, so in addition to the cash components all selected umpires will receive additional benefits like, a personalised Games ID and registration guide, Officials T-shirts, Games Gifts, Souvenir programmes and everything that the Competitors will receive as it is a festival for everyone. Priority will be given to those referees that can attend both days in the first instance.
Everyone involved in the Games must register at the SuperCentre Celebration at St George’s Hall on either the evening of Thursday the 26th or Friday the 27th June.
All selected umpires will also be eligible to attend the Grand Parade of Athletes on Saturday evening (featuring great prizes from Liverpool One) and The Great Games Party on Saturday Night. From a CV perspective, it will also be good for you to say that you have officiated at the World’s largest multi-sport festival for businesses.
