Fun, Fitness & Friends
Just one small advert in the local newspaper has changed so many lives of mums running their day to day household. My friend mentioned it to us and we turned up for our first session.
So used to running round after the kids, school runs, football practice, dancing classes, not to mention their parties and sleepovers,…
A busy life but still something missing. We needed an outlet too, but after this Sunday evening session we’ve never looked back.
We found a group of like minded females all wanting to chase a ball round court trying to put it in the net, our coach held her head in her hands wondering what to do with us we we’re so bad.
That was then, now one year down the line we’ve formed strong bonds and friendships with girls of all ages and backgrounds playing the game with one common goal FUN. We laugh, train, socialize and have found a whole new meaning to the word sport, and we LOVE IT.
We can keep fit and get back in shape after our childbearing years and we don’t have to run on the treadmill for miles and miles wondering whether
our bums look big in lycra. Our daily lives have changed, we have more energy, we’re happy again and more confident in our approach to lots of everyday day problems we incur. We eat better and have got rid of bad habits we once had, and our children now have REAL role models to look up to.
We have even formed our own teams playing competitive league games every
week, I never thought I would be doing that at 38, and we LOVE IT.
We have to keep it going, it’s important to us and to our future generations of shooting stars. For our well-being and our children’s well-being, and our future in the sports arena. So let’s get off the sofa and everyone do something today. Get into NETBALL. Don’t stay in the shadows and join a wkd game.
